In the last year, I’ve learned that all fruit loops are the same flavor, Doritos were invented at Disneyland, the mafia had control of the American artichoke market for years, and it’s illegal to serve wine in teacups in Topeka, Kansas. 

And I’ve learned all of it through a photographer’s newsletter. Brittany Wright, known for her viral food photography, shares strange and unusual stories through her publication Wright Kitchen: Our Food's History.

In 2023, photography newsletters go far beyond the generic greeting to reveal fascinating tidbits, personal insights, and glimpses behind-the-scenes. It’s not enough to announce your latest project and share some photos, no matter how good they might be—you have to consistently draw subscribers in and keep their attention.
