15 Photography Websites Accepting Submissions (Part 1)
Finding the right online publication for your work can have far-reaching implications, from catching the eye of a gallerist to attracting long-term clients. In recent years, photographers we’ve run on Feature Shoot have gone on to be interviewed by publications ranging from Buzzfeed to The Guardian, getting noticed by editors from WIRED, VICE, TIME, and beyond. Some have published monographs, and others have had their work auctioned by galleries.
Still, when you’re looking to “put yourself out there” professionally, it can be a challenge to know how–and where–to start. We put together this list of photography and arts publications that have built a reputation for highlighting and discovering emerging talent, from photojournalists to fine artists and everyone in between. Read on to learn how to submit your photos for consideration. And stay tuned for Part 2 next week!
Feature Shoot has spotlighted thousands of photographers since our founding by Editor-in-Chief Alison Zavos. We run all genres, from street to still life to portraiture, with an emphasis on emerging photographers, though we have featured dozens of established voices as well, from Bruce Gilden to Cindy Sherman and beyond.
Members of our new Discord server can submit photos for FREE under the “submit work” channel.
In Sight is The Washington Post’s dedicated photography blog. They run photojournalism, fine art, documentary, street photography, and more, with stories written by the paper’s photo editors in conversation with photographers. Readers can submit via this submission form or email insight@washpost.com with questions.
Once dubbed the “Tate Modern of the Internet,” Colossal is a hub for art, photography, design, craft, and culture. “Colossal is designed to serve as an online gallery of visually spectacular artwork, while seeking to educate and inform rather than criticize or interpret,” the staff says.
“Through this effort, Colossal is used as inspiration and instruction in classrooms across the arts and sciences from grade school through graduate school. Via our website, newsletters, and social media impressions, Colossal reaches an estimated 10 million monthly readers.” Follow their submission instructions here.
